Interstellar part 2

Part 2 coming up!! You've all been waiting for it long enough!

Continued.....

And thus he left, tears streaming,
With a good company and decent equipment.
They left the earth beaming,
With the professor’s advice and consent.

An year it’d take them to reach Saturn,
And with the expert guidance of the robots TARS and CASE,
The Endurance followed its prescribed pattern.
They retired into delta sleep as they plunged deep into space.

A few hours from Saturn, they woke,
Enchanted by the wormhole.
Upon them like a bubble it invoked,
And switched off Endurance’s cruise control.

A concentration of heavenly bodies it was,
And emitting a brilliant glow.
Somewhere inside it was,
Gargantua: the black hole.

To the wormhole as they approached,
Tingling with excitement they sat.
And just as they were coached,
They took the Endurance in flat.

A brief whiteout accompanied by loss of control,
They had made it to a galaxy far from their own.
Soon, they regained control,
And started looking for a new home.

They head first to Miller’s planet,
But, fearing a huge time dilation,
Due to Gargantua’s proximity to the planet,
They compromise on the spent duration..

A planet they reach and water they see,
Unlike anything they’ve previously witnessed.
The planet itself was a huge sea,
Which left them all confused.

Their visit proved to be far from fruitful,
They lost a friend instead.
And by the time to the endurance they pull,,
23 years have already fled.

Met by frustration and a very old looking mate,
They find messages from the earth.
Years of messages coming in straight,
Looking at those old recognizable faces from earth.

His daughter was now of his age,
His son, already a father.
Professor Brand, now very old in age,
Asks them not to bother.

"Do not go gentle into the night" he says,
"We must reach far beyond our life spans".
Where the time counts and not the days,
And not deviate from our original plan.

On a planet some billion light years away,
The little girl all grown up now.
Tries to solve the equation her way,
To solve it, through their assumption of time she must plough.

Back on the Endurance, they chalk out another plan,
To visit the other two planets their top priority.
And decide first comes the planet of Dr Mann,
While Edmund’s being outvoted by the majority.

They’re running low on resources and fuel,
And quickly decide that there’s only one planet to which they can make.
In extreme conditions and already losing their cool,
Deciding between family and the future of humans is not a piece of cake.
